Nuclear-Backed AI Campuses
Projection: The IEA and DOE-LBNL project large, sustained electricity demand from data centers and stress supply and planning constraints. Some AI campuses may anchor new or restarted firm generation where finance, regulation, and public consent align. The forecast is conditional; project completion and delivered power, not announcements, are the decisive evidence.
Why this idea is here
What the evidence establishes.
The IEA models datacenter electricity demand, projects the energy sources needed to supply it, and analyzes implications for security, emissions, innovation, and affordability; DOE and LBNL project substantial U.S. datacenter load growth through 2028 and describe power-system planning measures for that growth. These are source-backed premises for this projection; they do not by themselves prove broad adoption or the eventual outcome.
