Self-Healing Collectives
Projection: NVIDIA documents resilient rack fabrics and operation under degraded configurations; Broadcom supplies high-capacity AI switching. Distributed collectives could reroute around failing links or components without discarding long computations. The thesis requires fault-injection tests showing preserved correctness and useful progress, not merely link redundancy or a successful restart.
Why this idea is here
What the evidence establishes.
NVIDIA documents rack-scale all-to-all GPU fabrics, rising bandwidth, resilience features, and NVLink Fusion for hybrid systems; Broadcom documents a 102.4-Tbps Ethernet switch with AI routing features and support for co-packaged optics. These are source-backed premises for this inference; they do not by themselves prove broad adoption or the eventual outcome.
